Melvin was outstanding in helping me with moving arrangements and ensuring everything went well. I can’t say enough positive remarks about the crew, they were professional and experienced! We often hear stories of things being miss handled and damaged in moves. All of my furniture and boxes were moved without issue. Nothing was broken. Attention to detail was paid regarding my wine refrigerator, Peloton bike and artwork. I’m so grateful. I highly recommend A Better Tripp to others.

I found A Better Tripp on my Nextdoor app with high reviews. Internet searches confirmed what I needed to know.Mike Livesay was my first contact and continued with me for the entire move. He was knowledgeable, responded quickly, straight forward, trustworthy, kind, personable, and very patient.Rick was in charge of packing, unloading, and the driver for our truck. He had the same qualities as Mike which shows what Tripp looks for when hiring employees. He was also outstanding! I knew each day where Rick and the truck were. I had been welcomed by Mike to call and ask each day, but I only called once, because Rick let me know during the 4-5 day journey.Once near our place, it isnt easy to drive into or out. No one in the company batted an eye about it.Unloading went very well. The two local guys who were hired to work for Rick were also the best. All 3 were determined to get every box and piece of furniture where I wanted - even more interested in that than I was! Lol!!Weve been unpacking boxes for 2 weeks now, and Im amazed how carefully every item was wrapped and protected. We could never have done the quality job the packers did.Truly a professional company and Top Notch in every way, but even more than that. Comment: Best moving company Ive ever worked with. I did a long-haul move from Houston, Texas to San Jose, California. It was seamless. This is not my first long-haul move and in the past I have worked with big national movers - think ones like Gold Star Moving, Atlas Van Lines, Allied Van Lies, All My Sons, etc.Those other movers will do shady things in the fine print like have 30 business days to deliver your stuff, so it could go to New York before making it to California. Ive also experienced having items get broken or damaged. Skip all of that trouble and use Better Tripp.My things arrived in 6 days (projected 10), they were handled with care, pricing was fair and transparent, and the customer service was phenomenal. Long distance moves are incredibly stressful but they managed to ease a lot of the stress for me.

What people who are in this process of transition do not need is additional drama imposed by the moving company they hire. A Better Tripp is the answer (and stress preventative) to all of this.My most recent move from Arkansas to Maryland had its share of drama-- it was prolonged as it required that we put our belongings in local storage while looking for our new home in MD. When it came time to organize our final move to MD, I called several moving companies in NW Arkansas- every single one of them came in at an extremely high price despite the fact that we were already packed up in storage pods. They also felt very impersonal.On a whim, I reached out to A Better Tripp in Houston. They helped me through a move from Atlanta to Saint Louis 14 years ago- recommended by my aunt who knew about them from sending furniture to her out of state kids as they started having kids of their own. They were amazing back then and I felt like they really cared about me. I called and Mike answered the phone. He worked with me like I was the only one in the room-- and every time I called, I felt like he had his finger on my move- ensuring that everything went right.Then there was Jose. Honestly, I cannot say enough good about him-- he drove our moving truck and coordinated everything on the ground. From the beginning I felt like he truly cared. We had found A Better Tripp when researching movers in the spring, and stumbled across the mover on Angies List where the reviewers were all so favorable, to our relief! National moving companies were not very responsive, or the quotes were much higher with too many unanswered questions, and, given bad past experiences, we were wary. In May, we began our work with Melvin (very knowledgeable and helpful answering questions), who came and assessed our needs, after which we received a quote, on which they seamlessly delivered. Rich and crew did a great job wrapping up all our furniture and loading the truck. Rich met us in Rehoboth Beach about 9 am on Aug 4th -- a day earlier than expected! -- and his crew unloaded quickly, putting furniture back together and cleaning up, done by 4 pm. Everything accounted for; only two small breaks (table leg and one glass) and those items were our wrapping (or lack thereof). There were no unsavory surprises -- no changes of pricing, estimated delivery date, and no crew disappointments. In every respect, we wholeheartedly recommend the Houston local mover, A Better Tripp, for your cross-country move!

Our new community is remote enough that I was having trouble finding anyone who would take the job! THANKFULLY, my neighbor referred me to ABT! Because our new town didn’t have conditioned storage, we had ABT store our belongings in their vault in Houston until our new house was ready. When we were able to receive our belongings 7 months later, everything arrived on time and in good condition. From the guy on the phone to the truck driver you can tell they all take pride in their job and company and want to ensure your move is the best experience. I used their services to move furniture from Virginia Beach back to Houston. I was nervous because I had a number of irreplaceable antique pieces from East Germany and Eastern Europe acquired while stationed in Berlin in the late 80’s and fragile items such as a nearly 70 year old 7x5 ft scroll map of East and West Berlin that once hung on the wall in a US military headquarters and a large antique display cabinet with glass doors. Everything was well prepped and secured, A Better Tripp treated every item with the upmost care. The driver and crew were friendly and amazingly efficient and quick. After the truck was unloaded the driver reassembled my furniture and placed it wherever I wanted it. Awesome company, awesome service I highly recommend A Better Tripp!

We were new to Houston and they were excellent! I spoke with Linda who was very courteous and informative. I had some very large antique pieces, including a marble top buffet. Roselle and his team did a fantastic job at meticulously disassembling and wrapping the large marble top. They moved it seamlessly, as well as the other pieces. Comment: If it was possible to award 10 stars, I would. Our two man team moved us seamlessly out of our second floor condo and into our new second floor condo. The stairs were narrow and the furniture heavy, but their attitudes and polite demeanor never wavered. I cannot compliment Juan Carlos and Douglas enough. They also took additional care to wrap each piece of furniture with a moving blanket that they secured with packing tape. All of our furniture, despite the small spaces, arrived in mint condition. We watched other people at our condo move, and their movers were uncouth, messy, and careless. We were so thankful that our movers were, kind, courteous, and careful. Other moving companies either refused a small load, would use more than one mover, or would charge over $1,000 more than A Better Tripp.They picked up on time, packed carefully, delivered on time, nothing was damaged. Comment: This company was recommended to me by a friend who had moved into the same apartment complex about a year before. They had done extensive research before choosing a mover, and I have to say they were right. I did not have ABT pack anything for me, only move the boxes and furniture, but they did an excellent job. My apartment has some tricky stairs and I have large furniture, but they were able to get everything up safely. The pricing was very reasonable for the level of service they provided, and how quickly I was able to get my things delivered (no waiting hours or even days to receive your things, like with some larger moving companies; they literally just drive the truck right across town and drop off). Overall I am very satisfied with their service and will use them again in the future and recommend to anyone I know that needs a mover.

My friend offered to help me unload, but wasnt sure if he was available on Saturday or not, so I called around Houston for a round-trip service, and was referred to A-Better Trip and talked to Allen. Comment: I had a great experience with A Better Tripp moving from Houston to Los Angeles - particularly with the two guys who both picked up and dropped off my stuff - Mike (Skinny) and Tim. They were incredibly friendly and responsible, and took good care of all of my stuff, making sure to wrap all the furniture carefully with blankets or putting loose pillows in boxes. They made the whole experience so much less stressful than it could have been, and we actually managed to have fun getting it all packed into the truck.My one complaint would just be about the office administration because the office was incredibly slow in processing my paperwork - I had to call multiple times just to get them to send first the quote and then the contract - and they only got it to me at the last possible moment. But I liked that it really felt like a neighborhood business where people were genuine and true to their word.

The first time was four years ago; I got a quote in writing because I had been ripped off by movers so many times before, I decided I wanted to go a different route and pay by weight. The movers packed and unpacked, in addition to moving.It was wonderful - professional, polite and as quick as it could be without breaking anything. It really cut down on the time I would spend unpacking and saved my back. They didnt charge me a dime over the quote.The second time I moved I just had A Better Tripp do the loading and unloading, and was charged by the hour. The guys didnt play games to get more hours - a reasonable lunch and breaks, and they worked as fast as people moving heavy furniture can. The guys were SUPER polite and easy to work with.They accidentally charged me $125, that I didnt notice. About 30 minutes later, there was a knock on the door, and the head-mover told me I was overcharged, corrected it/had me sign the paper, and was on his way. I was very impressed with his honesty.I could not be happier with either move. They were my first ever good experiences with great movers. Not one item was broken! I highly recommend either payment style with A Better Tripp. Happy moving!

Comment: A Better Tripp recently moved me over a 1000 miles. They arrived at my house on time and handled several sets of china and some furniture like it was their own! I was impressed. They worked hard and loaded that truck in only a few hours. After a delay for some truck issues, the furniture arrived in excellent condition. None of the china or furniture had any chips or scratches. The total breakage: the handle on the dryer vent! Thats it! If I move again, I will definitely use them!

Comment: We presented them with some really tough challenges. They had to move a number of massive bedroom and office pieces to upstairs bedrooms. The challenge was that we had a short couple step up the stairs to a 90 degree turn, to the top landing with another 90 degree turn.I was a little afraid when they said they were going to do it with a three man crew. I was astounded. They got all of the pieces upstairs with no damage to any piece or to the walls or house. These guys don;t look it, but they are gorillas. This was very heavy furniture.They did a great job, worked their tails off the whole day, were very kind and courteous. At the end of the day I was charged a very fair price that was exactly as quoted.I would defintely use them again, and recommend them to any friends who wanted to find a good one.

Comment: I ordered two trucks and 4 men. The crew was on-time, polite, and quick. Fantastic!However, the Sales Rep was quite rude. When the crew arrived they gave me an estimate that was 50% more than what the phone rep quoted (6hrs verse 9 hours). Two days prior, I had provide the sales-rep a comprehensive moving inventory list (100 boxes, 30 bags, yard tools, furnitures, etc..). I can understand if it’s 1 hour off, but 3 hours!So I called the office (same sales-rep answered) to explain the situation, “Why did you give me a quote that was so way off….”. She said there’s no way she can provide an accurate quote. Then the next sentence from her was, “..Do you want me to call off the move?” Wow! She knew very well that I wasn’t in the position to cancel. Regardless, an apology would have been good enough for me, but I got a slap in the face.I plan to move again within 6 months when we buy our new home. Comment: This is the third time weve used A Better Tripp, and I have nothing but positive things to say about them. This was our biggest move yet: we needed two full moving trucks. Besides emptying our house (much of which was very haphazardly packed) then also had to drive by a separate storeroom and unload that as well. They had to do all sorts of random extra stuff to get everything done...like disassemble and reassemble our sons bunk beds so that it would get through the stairs, plus move a bunch of random potted plants I was worried about. And they moved FAST... they even ate lunch during the drive in between the houses, just so they wouldnt have to take a break. I love these guys!
